Independently Learning Pearl Harbor

*what I thought about today*

Today’s lesson was a great change to the way we normally go over material in class, For me at least, it was a really nice refreshment to be able to work by myself on material like I did last year. I would really like it if we did these kinds of classes at least once a week, or ever other week. I think it’s good for everyone because you figure out how to manage your time effectively, and being independent with school assignments can be beneficial at certain times. I tend to get more work done and recall how/what and where I remembered the material that I educated myself with. We should do more of these kinds of classes on Fridays especially. This kind of learning takes practice, that’s for sure, but I sure like it

Yey!! Fun class

WWII and America's Isolationism: Paragraph Reaction

Do you agree or disagree and why? Please post a reply with a reason attached:

*America made the right decision to stay out of World War II because America is a country built on capital. Staying out of the war meant that the US could supply armaments to the allies without losing men and women in combat. Today many Americans and others around the world wonder why the US ever got involved in a war in Iraw recently. WWII was the same situation - why get involved in a problem on the other side of the world when the US was trying to get over the Great Depression.

In my opinion, America should’ve definitely gotten involved with WWII. Roosevelt employed measures and reasons for staying out of the war, but many of them backfired. First off, they should’ve got involved in WWII because they were part of the First World War. Although America is a country that is built primarily on Capital, back in the time of WWII they were still struggling to overcome the financial disaster of the Great Depression. However, it is a little bit selfish on their part only contribute supplies and not actual soldiers to the war, yet today, America is one of the wealthiest nations in the world, and we will send troops overseas. The Stimson Doctrine was Roosevelt’s proposal to almost ignore any changes made to territories through aggressive measures, and this, in my opinion was a mistake because Japan would just look proposal and at realize that Roosevelt wouldn’t even be able to raise funds to expand the armed forces in America. After WWI, America went into isolationism because of their financial situation and the stock market disaster, yet today we are fully involved in the war in Iraq. In my opinion, the only reason for America staying out of the Second World War was because of their financial situation, and they would get aggressively involved today because they know that they could afford the many costs of war. Also, America is also more directly involved in a one on one conflict with the Middle East over a semi-direct issue with oil. Contrary to all of those opinions, the value of any soldiers life should never be manipulated.

Invasion of Poland

How many troops invaded Poland?

In September of 1939, Germany invaded Poland with a total of 1 850 000 troops. The amount of troops Hitler used to invade Poland essentially made up five armies.

How long did it take for the troops to take over the whole country?

Once the troops entered Poland, it took as little as two weeks to take over Poland. It is said some though that it was by October 6th of 1939, that the very last of the Polish troops were wiped out and the German soldiers were officially ''victorious''.

What was Poland’s response?

Poland responded once they were able to comprehend that Germany was attacking on 1600 kilometers long front, was to build up their own forces which included some 1 000 000 soldiers What did Britain and France do? Britain and France reacted by declaring war on Germany on September first, but didn’t help out Poland directly by supporting or protecting them

What happened next?

by October 1939, Germany had successfully taken over former Polish territories and was under Nazi Germany control. Germany occupied the remainder of Poland when it invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, and would remain under German occupation until January of 1945.
