WWII and America's Isolationism: Paragraph Reaction
Do you agree or disagree and why? Please post a reply with a reason attached:
*America made the right decision to stay out of World War II because America is a country built on capital. Staying out of the war meant that the US could supply armaments to the allies without losing men and women in combat. Today many Americans and others around the world wonder why the US ever got involved in a war in Iraw recently. WWII was the same situation - why get involved in a problem on the other side of the world when the US was trying to get over the Great Depression.
In my opinion, America should’ve definitely gotten involved with WWII. Roosevelt employed measures and reasons for staying out of the war, but many of them backfired. First off, they should’ve got involved in WWII because they were part of the First World War. Although America is a country that is built primarily on Capital, back in the time of WWII they were still struggling to overcome the financial disaster of the Great Depression. However, it is a little bit selfish on their part only contribute supplies and not actual soldiers to the war, yet today, America is one of the wealthiest nations in the world, and we will send troops overseas. The Stimson Doctrine was Roosevelt’s proposal to almost ignore any changes made to territories through aggressive measures, and this, in my opinion was a mistake because Japan would just look proposal and at realize that Roosevelt wouldn’t even be able to raise funds to expand the armed forces in America. After WWI, America went into isolationism because of their financial situation and the stock market disaster, yet today we are fully involved in the war in Iraq. In my opinion, the only reason for America staying out of the Second World War was because of their financial situation, and they would get aggressively involved today because they know that they could afford the many costs of war. Also, America is also more directly involved in a one on one conflict with the Middle East over a semi-direct issue with oil. Contrary to all of those opinions, the value of any soldiers life should never be manipulated.

Well argued. You are the only person so far that saw the American isolationism as a negative thing. Interesting.
Thank you :-)
